Petra McBride is not best pleased.

She's lost her job as an applied psychologist at Dundee University and the new police team she's fond work with is looking like it isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Headed up by DI Jade Tanner, the team is supposed to be investigating Scotlsnd's most complex crimes. They'e recruited a team in experienced investigators, including DS Mo Uddin who's moved north from Birmingham.

So why is the team in a dingy office block outside Glasgow? And why do none of the high-ups seem interested in their work?

Maybe their first case can improve things - solving the murder of a American billionaire, shot dead on the banks of Loch Lomond. Jade must investigate the physical evidence, while Petra gets to grips with the psychology of the people he left behind. Can they solve the case and cement their reputation?
